Athena Arms’ FFL Transfer Policy is meant to protect the buyer, the seller, and the business. If you have any questions regarding our FFL Transfer process, please call (402) 916-4484.

We reserve the right to terminate any transaction for any reason.

Incoming FFL Transfer Policy

Let the shipping dealer know you wish to have the gun transferred through Athena Arms. If the shipping dealer needs a copy of our FFL, they can request one by emailing us at info@athenafirearms.com.

To pick up your transfer, you must fill out the ATF Form 4473 electronically in-store. Photo ID and proper certification documents (Concealed Handgun Permit or Firearm Purchase Certificate are required for handguns and long guns, or a NICS background check for long guns).

Our FFL Transfer Fee is $75 per serialized item.

Once the firearm(s) arrives and we have entered it into our system, WE WILL CONTACT YOU. Even if the shipping carrier (FedEx/UPS/USPS) indicates your transfer has been delivered, do not assume the item is ready for pickup.

Depending on business volume, staffing levels, and when the package was delivered, it may take up to 48 hours for your firearm(s) to get checked in.

IMPORTANT – If you arrive before we call you to pick up the Firearm, we will ask you to come back.  Our staffing levels do not allow for expedited service. 

If you have not yet picked up your transfer after 30 days, a $25 Monthly Storage Fee will be assessed until you pick up your firearm(s). After 3 months, the transfer and firearm will be considered forfeit and will then become property of Athena Arms. If you decide that you no longer want the firearm(s) and want us to complete a return, you will be responsible for paying the $75 Transfer Fee along with the shipping costs and handling fees before we will initiate the return.

Outgoing FFL Transfer Policy

IMPORTANT - Please contact the FFL Dealer that you have chosen to send the firearm(s) to before your shipment from us to verify that they are currently accepting transfers.

We will need a copy of the seller’s license, the buyer's contact information, and the FFL Dealer’s FFL.

You will pay the $75 Transfer Fee along with the Shipping Costs, and a $50 handling fee.

Athena Arms will measure and weigh the package and ask you to supply a credit card to pay the exact shipping charges.  We make every attempt to ship your firearm(s) as quickly as possible and will provide you with the tracking information.  If UPS/Fedex do not stop that day, there may be a delay.

IMPORTANT - Athena Arms is not liable for any damages incurred to the firearm(s) once it has been picked up by the carrier and has left our store.

Private Party Transfer Policy

If you have sold your firearm or are looking to gift it to someone you know, we highly recommend bringing the firearm into the store so we can ensure all of the appropriate paperwork is filled out.

The seller or person gifting the firearm will need to provide a Photo ID. The receiving party will need to provide their Photo ID and proper certification documents (Concealed Handgun Permit or Firearm Purchase Certificate).

A $75 Transfer Fee will need to be paid for the transaction. It is up to the buyer/receiver on whom will be responsible for the fees.
